Jane Lynch is one of the nicest stars I've ever met.She's charming, kind and patient, even with TV critics. A few months ago, I happened to share an elevator with Lynch, and she was just plain folks. Maybe it takes someone that nice to portray someone as horrible as Sue Sylvester, the cheerleading coach from hell who steals every "Glee" scene she's in. "I'm having the time of my life," Lynch said. "I am acting in the role of a lifetime. "And the words that they have written to come out of my mouth are some of the best heinous things I've ever said in my life. I could not be happier." Sue Sylvester is the hugely successful coach of the Cheerios — McKinley High's national champion cheerleading squad. Her success has made her bulletproof at the school. "She has to be the most scheming, unashamed, entitled person I've ever played, and I'm just adoring it," Lynch said. Sue is both jealous of and threatened by the newly competitive glee club and its coach, Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison). Glee star Cory Monteith is using his new-found star power to help an aspiring singer get some attention.Manny Garcia, a San Francisco-based singer, recently posted a video on YouTube featuring himself performing a self-made mash-up of two Glee covers: Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors" and Wicked's "Defying Gravity." Monteith tweeted the video Tuesday to his 75,000 followers with a single word: "props!" ![]() Fox's Glee and ABC's Modern Family hit the awards scene strong, both breaking their way into the best comedy category for the 2010 Writers Guild Awards. The shows also grabbed nominations for best new series, along with The Good Wife, Hung, and Nurse Jackie. Family is also nominated for best episodic writing, tying 30 Rock, Mad Men and The Office for the most nominations overall, each bringing in three. Ratings: Glee ends on a high note For best comedy, vets 30 Rock, The Office and Curb Your Enthusiasm will face off against newbies Modern Family and Glee. While the best drama category will see Mad Men up against AMC's Breaking Bad, Showtime's Dexter, ABC's Lost and NBC's Friday Night Lights.
